A glimpse of the grand finale of 98.3 Radio Mirchi’s ‘Mirchi Queen Bee 2018’
It was an exciting night for not only the participants but also the invitees at the marvelous finale of Mirchi Queen Bee Season 10, organized by 98.3 Radio Mirchi. The beauty pageant took place at The Pavillion, on Senapati Bapat Road.
The panelist of judges included film actor Meenakshi Dixit, TV actor and model Manish Raisinghan, actor Sangeeta Chauhan, actor Kiran Dubey, Siddharth Sehgal of The Pavillion, Saurabh Shaw, managing director of Shaw Toyota, and TV actor Pooja Banerjee. Najamuddin Hussain, cluster head, Radio Mirchi Pune, felicitated the judges. The host for the show, Arpit Sharma, kept the invitees entertained with his comic timing. Singer Abhiruchi Singh too added colors to the night with her lovely voice. Also, the students of ISAS International Beauty School showcased their talent in makeup and hairstyling in a special sequence.
After a week’s hectic grooming and training, the 16 finalists looked fabulous and ready to face the final challenge.
Traditional beauties
The 16 finalists of Mirchi Queen Bee 2018 were- Aradhna Sharma, Falguni Zende, Kajol Bhatia, Mallika Neelabh, Prachi Joshi, Surabhi More, Dipika Gautam, Harshita Atre, Shrunkhala Tete, Sukhada Shete, Vaishnavi Kakade, Mrinali Gokhale, Lakshmi Patil, Kiran Neoge, Komal Mekala, and Apurva Chavan.
They all looked gorgeous in Indian wear by Style Diva’s by Jaya Jain. The collection included lehenga and ghagra dresses, each with an exquisite embroidery work. In some the embroidery work was delicate, nonetheless stunning. The choli or the blouse had a touch of Western cuts and fittings- with off shoulder, cold shoulder, and more. The dresses were all in pastel shades, a few in vibrant dark hues too. In this first round, the girls introduced themselves.
The first impression
The girls gracefully walked the ramp. They looked confident, well-groomed, and at ease. And this certainly impressed the judges. Pooja Banerjee said, “All these girls look really confident. It does not look like some of them are walking the ramp for the first time.”
The 16 finalists were all in the age group of 18 to 24. Some had a previous experience in walking the ramp. However, for most of them this was the first time they were walking the ramp. Saurabh Shaw expressed, “It’s obvious that the girls have put in a lot of effort. They are all so young. But, they have marvelous confidence.”
Smart and sporty
In the second round, the girls sported casual western wear by Forever 21, Vajor, and Steve Madden. The Pavillion provided the clothes for this round. Giving regular ramp walk a twist, the girls brought out their naughty side to the fore. The chirpy tracks in the background only made it more fun. The girls were seen in ripped jeans, tees, short skirts, military pants, and more.
The Final 8
The finalists looked gorgeous in ballroom gowns from Nisha Virmani’s fashion boutique eNVy. The stunning gowns were in sequin, with cuts, drapes, and slits.
In this round, the eight finalists were chosen for the final question and answer round. Among the top 8 were Falguni Zende, Kajol Bhatia, Mallika Neelabh, Dipika Gautam, Harshita Atre, Sukhada Shete, Surabhi More, and Apurva Chavan.
Before heading to the final point, we must appreciate all who had helped put up the show. Sandeep Dharma was the show director and runway choreographer. ISAS International Beauty School was the makeup and hairstyle partner. H. P. Jewellers was the jewelry partner. Prajakta Albuquerque was the grooming and personality development trainer. Moushumi Kuvawala trained the girls in Pilates; and Shambhavi Raddi trained them in Yoga. Monica Lundh was the stylist for the event.
